Betta Choice Pond Seal Clear is an Extra Tough Polyurethane Plastic Coating for sealing concrete rendered ponds and watercourses. It is a quick and easy to use single component sealer.
Instructions and guidance for use:
- Surface Preparation: the render should not have water proofer added to the mix, this will prevent Betta Choice Pond Seal Clear penetrating the render.
- If it has been added, sand off the surface of pond before applying Betta Choice Pond Sealer.
- The render must be dry enough to be porous.
- New ponds should be given 14-21 days to dry before being coated and the surface should be checked for cracks in the render and repaired and allowed to dry before coating.
Application:
- Betta Choice Pond Seal Black is a 4-coat system. It can be applied by brush or roller but do not load roller with too much Betta Choice Pond Seal and do not allow it to pool in the bottom of the pond.
- Firstly apply 2 coats of Betta Choice Pond Seal Clear, followed by 2 coats of Betta Choice Pond Seal Black. Apply the first coat of clear, when this is tacky like strong cello tape or touch dry, apply the second coat of clear. When this is finger tacky or touch dry, apply the first coat of black and when this is finger tacky or touch dry, apply the second coat of black.
- Do not allow more than 3 hours between coats, as Betta Choice Pond Seal Black will start to chemically cure. If this does happen, allow 24 hours, sand back and apply the finishing coats.
